Description:
The purpose of this course is to provide the student with basic skill level and knowledge of the dances taught in social dance. Principles, techniques, safe practices and various types of social dance will be taught throughout the course. As a result of the class the student will be able to successfully participate in recreational social dance as a lifelong activity.

What you will learn:
- Basic steps and variations for Foxtrot, Cha-cha, Waltz, American Tango, Swing & Merengue
- Appropriate frame for partner dancing
- Timing and rhythm patterns for dances
- How to engage and maintain “line of dance”
- Nonverbal communication
- To work with other individuals with varied personalities, styles and abilities
