Description:
The purpose of this class is to provide the student with a holistic and empowerment-based approach to violence prevention in general, and violence against women, in particular. Students will learn appropriate knowledge and skills for self-defense and personal violence prevention. Not only will students learn physical techniques for self-defense, but they will also learn how to become emotionally and psychologically stronger through class discussions and developing an understanding of predator motives. There is a strong emphasis on critical thinking and decisiveness in this class.

- Limited to women only

- Mouth Guard
What you will learn:
- Appropriate knowledge and skills for self-defense
- How to verbally defuse potentially violent encounters
- The ability to defend one’s self after all other possibilities are exhausted
- Safe practices and strategies of self defense
What to expect:
- Basic sparring in most classes
- Written assignments to access knowledge
- Your skills will be evaluated by the instructor
